As Bennett pointed out probably you are hitting a bug.

Loook for bug #4317571 and related on metalink. It seems close to your
problem.

What I cannot understan: 10.1.0.4 for x86-64? Is it out already? Or is
it only a beta release?

PS: Just a personal opinion:  I don't think RAC 10g for x86-64 is ready
for production... not yet at least.
